The (Not So) Exciting Stories Of My Adventures In The Japanese Countryside...

"If we are always arriving and departing, it is also true that we are eternally anchored. One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things." -Henry Miller

Welcome to my Blog!

Greetings friends and family!

I know I've been dragging my feet for a long time on the creation of this blog, largely because I couldn't decide how I wanted to use it. I wasn't sure if I should use it as a photo album, personal diary, creative space, travelogue, or just an easy place to bitch about all the challenges of being artificially transplanted into the Japanese countryside. In the end, I decided on a little of all of the above.

I hope you'll check here often and provide me with plenty of feedback on what I've written as well as updates on what's going on in your own lives.

As for me...while I can't promise that the things I write will always be interesting, I will try to keep my observations honest no matter how much I might regret it later on. Those of you closest to me will understand how difficult it is for me to put my thoughts and feelings into words. This is a big step.

So, let's see what adventures lie ahead during this second year in the inaka!
